This was the Lincoln Sausage Festival held at the Castle ground about a fortnight ago. It was also my first time entering the castle actually. Loads of sausages around that’s for sure! I get to taste some rare breed sausages. I even bought some home and they were really awesome to the taste buds! People came in droves and as the day got warmed up, more and more people visited. I even managed to talk to some folks who came all the way from Sheffield just for this festival. The festival extended out of the castle ground up til the cathedral. The atmosphere was so lively from the outside of the castle and it just brought in a great transition into the castle ground.
Well, it wasn’t all sausages after all. There were also vendors selling food stuffs like bread, cakes, desserts, mashed potatoes and burgers. Besides the food part, children got to play with some swings and had clowns entertaining them, making balloons and photo sessions. Then there were performances by the fire brigade as well. Mascots were all over the place from vendors to get attention of visitors.
The event was very well organised as there were health and safety officers all over the place to ensure everyone is safe. Overall, it’s great experience for me going into the castle and attending a famous local festival! Next up is the X’mas market and the X’mas light turning on!
